Product Overview
The Civil War Chevrons for Hospital Steward are accurate reproductions of the distinctive medical rank insignia worn during the American Civil War.
These chevrons feature a half-chevron design made from emerald green wool cloth, measuring 1¾ inches wide and worn obliquely on the sleeve at an angle of approximately 30 degrees, running from the outer to the inner seam. The border is embroidered in yellow silk, framing a central caduceus emblem measuring 2 inches long, also stitched in yellow silk.
In keeping with period regulations, the head of the caduceus is worn toward the outer seam of the sleeve. Sold as a matched pair, these chevrons are ideal for Civil War reenactment, living history impressions, uniform restoration, or collection, providing a historically correct finishing detail for Hospital Steward portrayals.
