The double breasted frock coat was worn by most CS Officres. An officer's rank was distingushed by the the number of rows of sleeve braid and different collar insignia. The coat is lined with black cotton and the sleeve lining is natural muslin. The coat has an inside left breast pocket and flap style pockets in the folds of the skirt. The coat ha s the branch of service color on the collar and cuffs facings and a 1/8" cord pipe down the front edge of the coat. All frock coats have raw bottom edges as per originals. The cuffs and collar have optional branch color. The coat has 14 equally spaced large buttons on the front except for general, who has the buttons spaced in four sets of twos. CS staff officer's buttons are supplied with the coat but are not sewn on some state seal and optional buttons are available at extra cost. Sleeves have tube style cuffs (non-functional) with three small buttons per cuff. Total buttons for general are 26 or 28, and 24 for all other officers.. Branch of service colors are: Generals, Staff and Engineer Officers; Buff (Off-white) Artillery;Red. Cavalry; Yellow. Infantry; Light Blue or French Blue. Medical ; Black. All frock coats are custom made and are not stock items, will take 8-12 weeks to ship. There is a shipping charge added to the cost. Cost of the frockcoat may vary as per design and rank and size.
