Product Overview
Developed early in the 12th century, the Great Helm became the mainstay of the Medieval fighting man and lasted for about 300 years. Sometimes worn over a smaller helmet and mail, this beautiful helmet with its menacing, narrow eyeslits was a strong, tough steel helmet fully capable of absorbing the shock of combat. This particular version has brass reinforcing bands with Fleur-de-lis terminals (the Fleur-de-lis was a royal symbol and not confined to France, as many suppose). The Crusader Great Helm is made from 16 gauge steel by Windlass Steelcrafts in India. #9-776...$199 ($9.95 s/h) CIRCA 1210 Dimensions-13 x 12 x 8 inches * Wt.-5 lbs.
