Germany entered WWII with the M-35 helmet as standard issue.In 1942 the M-42 design was put into production. The unfinished edge along the rim replaced the rolled edge of the M-35 on the shell. This edge slightly flared out, along the base of the skirt. Because the rolled edge was eliminated, the manufacturing process was expedited. It also reduced the amount of metal used in each helmet, but did not sacrifice protection. Our high quality reproduction has dark green matte finish, leather adjustable head liner and chin strap.
