Introduced in 1984 to replace the M 7 bayonet for use on M 16/AR-15 assault rifles that have bayonet studs and flash hiders installed. It was designed to be a multifunctional utility knife that also works as a bayonet. This is made to the basic military M 9 standards. Features a heavy duty stainless steel blade with OD green polymer coated handle for a sure grip in tight situations. The multi-functional high strength polymer and steel scabbard attaches to the bayonet to do double duty as a wire cutter; inclues a built in sharpening stone and small utility pouch. The OD green nylon webbing uses a standard web belt attaching clip, plus includes a quick disconnect option. 12 5/8" overall. Blade 7 3/8", weighs 14 oz.
