Product Overview
Of all the curved sabers to originate in Central Asia, the Kilij stands out for its distinctive blade profile. While it retains the classic saber curve, its widened tip increases chopping power while still allowing effective thrusting—giving it an advantage over more deeply curved blades such as the Shamshir.
This replica is based on a 19th-century Ottoman Kilij, known as a Pala. The Kilij was widely used across the Seljuk, Timurid, Mamluk, and Ottoman empires, and its effectiveness later influenced the development of Western ceremonial sabers.
The sword features a brass guard with geometric decoration, almond-shaped quillons (siperliks) with floral detail, and a hardwood grip finished with a back-curved Kabza Basi pommel. It arrives pre-sharpened and includes a leather scabbard with brass fittings. The blade can also be personalized with one engraved line of up to 25 characters.
