This is a beautiful replica of the army's steel-hilted Broadsword. It has a steel scabbard This was the sword carried by the officer's commanding the 93rd Highlanders during the Battle of Balaclava of the Crimean War. By 1868 all officers carried the steel scabbard with it's unique ball tip. This pattern has proven itself and is still carried today by British, Canadian and other Commonwealth Highland Regiments. The tempered high carbon steel blade is 31 1/2 inch surprisingly light with four fullers. The steel basket hilt is constructed with care, while the red wool wrapped leather liner completes the look. The grip is leather wrap with a wire twist, detailed steel pommel and red fringe. This sword is a must for any Highland enthusiast.
