Although the large claymore is widely favored by the Scot reenactor of today, this was not always the case with their ancestors. This is very much a Scottish version of the war swords that were in use all across Europe. Like those swords, this Scottish Medieval Sword could be swung with one hand as readily as with two. Being lighter and shorter than the massive two-hand claymore made it much easier to maneuver in the close press of battle, but was still capable of delivering a heavy and deadly blow to one's foe.
