Product Overview
During WWII in the Pacific, the leather grips used on many fighting knives rotted in the hot and humid climate. A sailor in the US Navy made new grips of salvaged aluminum from shot-down Japanese aircraft, including the infamous Zero. The new grips were a work of art and very functional, from the skull head cruncher to the cobra finger guard. Our high quality reproduction is made with a standard issue style blade from hand-forged high carbon steel that's properly tempered for optimal strength, durability and edge holding qualities. Aluminum grip is like the originals. It comes with a standard issue style top-grained leather sheath that fits belts up to 3" wide. the blade is 7" with a 12 1/2" overall length. Wt. 14 oz. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.
