This knife was originally made for the U. S. Department of Defense during WWII and issued primarily to Naval personal. The Colonial Mark I has reproduction USN Colonial Providence Rhode Island stamping on the high carbon black parkarized blade. The handle is molded on in one piece from hard rubber (in the Pacific the common stacked leather handles rapidly rotten in the hot humid climate). Comes with a tan leather sheath marked USN.
