Product Overview

These Civil War Army Corps Badges are accurate reproductions of the insignia worn by Union Army soldiers to identify their corps and division during the American Civil War. Introduced to improve battlefield organization and unit recognition, these badges became a defining symbol of Union military structure and pride.

Historically, Army Corps badges were worn on the top or left side of the forage cap or kepi, and in some cases pinned over the soldier’s left breast. Their placement made unit identification clear while also serving as a mark of honor and affiliation within the Army of the Potomac and other Union forces.

Our reproductions are crafted to match period-correct shapes and colors used to distinguish divisions within each corps. The color system followed official wartime standards:

Red identifies the First Division of a corps

White identifies the Second Division of a corps

Blue identifies the Third Division of a corps

These badges are ideal for Civil War reenactments, living history events, museum displays, collectors, and historically accurate uniform builds. Each piece adds immediate authenticity and visual credibility to a Union soldier impression.

When ordering, please select both the appropriate Division color and Company designation to ensure an accurate representation of your unit.
