Product Overview
Landsknecht Katzbalger Sword – A savage close combat weapon inspired by 16th century German mercenaries. The famous Landsknecht soldiers who broke enemy pike formations with massive Flamberge swords became famous for the Katzbalger, a one-handed sidearm known for its compact cutting power and distinctive Renaissance styling.
This replica captures the daring appearance of the original German sword, with its fancy closed "S" shaped guard, long fluted pommel and finely made wood grip. The sharpened blade is forged from tempered 1075 high carbon steel and the triple fullers reduce weight while maintaining durability and balance. The tapered blade construction on the distal makes the sword agile and ready for battle for collectors, reenactors and historical enthusiasts.
