Product Overview

Dating from the time of The Battle Of Waterloo (1815). Discovered under a brick floor in the old palace of Lagan Silekhana in Kathmandu, Nepal in February 2003, these original lead musket balls were issued with .75 cal. third model Brown Bess muskets and used during the war of 1812 and the Napoleonic Wars. Given as military aid to the independent country of Nepal at the treaty of Sugauli on December 2, 1815 when Nepal, never part of the British Empire, came under the “British influence.” Obsoleted in the 1850’s when Britain standardized on the .577 cal. these Brown Bess musket balls have probably laid undisturbed for nearly 150 years. 5 pieces
