This knife was used after the Civil War during the Indian and Spanish-American Wars. This knife was originally made by the Springfield Armoury between 1888 and 1889. Only 1,056 were produced. The blade is made from tempered high carbon steel and is etched with the words "HOSPITAL CORPS/U.S. ARMY" in two lines on one side of the blade. The grip is made of wood and the guard and pommel are brass. This excellent replica comes with a Type I sheath constructed of high grade black leather. Overall length: 17 inches. In Stock now.
