Product Overview
These U.S. Naval Officers Shoulder Boards are historically accurate reproductions of the shoulder boards used by naval officers during the American Civil War and Mexican War. Designed to reflect period naval uniform standards, these shoulder boards are appropriate for most officer ranks, with the exception of gunners, boatswains, carpenters, and sailmakers.
Constructed from navy-blue cloth, each shoulder board features a quarter-inch wide border embroidered in gold metallic thread on velvet, mounted on a wool backing. The size, materials, and embroidery closely match original 19th-century naval examples.
Sold as a matched pair, these shoulder boards are ideal for reenactments, living history events, museum displays, and historically accurate naval officer uniform restorations.
